Education

Classroom

Education is one of the most important areas of young people’s lives. It is important for you and your baby’s future. Completing your studies and examinations will help you if you decide to continue your education and when you look for work in the future.

If you are pregnant and of school age then you will have a number of decisions to make regarding your education. These decisions will relate to whether you have or haven’t been attending school before you became pregnant. The decisions include if you are able to stay on at school, if you wish to stay at your current school, attend a different school or further education college.

When you become a parent decisions relating to education include how soon you return to school or college, childcare arrangements for your baby whilst you are at school or college and who to contact if you need support whilst continuing your education.

The following information is in sections according to your age: under 16 years, 16 to 19 years and 19 - plus.
